30 hours biennially

Course subject requirements
There are no license-related course subject requirements.

Compliance date
60 days prior to license renewal. Renewal date is 6/14, biennially, for agents and 10/1, biennially, for brokers.

Carryover of excess hours:
Not allowed

Course repetition
Courses may not be taken for credit more than once in a two-year period.

Classroom study
Independent self-study courses (self-study final exams are not required to be monitored)

Exemptions

  • Individuals holding any of the following licenses: auto physical damage/mechanical breakdown agent, motor vehicle warranty agent or title insurance agent
  • Individuals holding any limited or restricted licenses that the commissioner may declare exempt
  • Individual holding limited lines licenses for which an exam is not required
  • Newly licensed individuals who passed the license exam receive an automatic credit of 30 hours to apply to the first compliance date

Method to certify completion
The licensee transfers information from the certificate of completion to New Hampshire's summary report form. The summary report must be submitted to the Insurance Department by the compliance date. The licensee keeps a copy of the summary report and the original certificates of completion in his or her files.
