Hundreds of members of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents from across the country traveled to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Feb. 27-28, 2008, to take part in the 26th annual Federal Legislative Summit. Representatives from PIANY, PIANJ and PIACT participated in the event.

Opposition to an Optional Federal Charter for insurance companies; support for reform of the National Flood Insurance Program; creation of a Natural Disaster Catastrophe Program; and continuation of the Crop Insurance Program were among the issues discussed during the congressional visits.
