2005 Market
Conditions Survey
PIA launched its second Market
Conditions Survey in Connecticut, New Hampshire and New Jersey and its
third survey in New York on the PIA Web site on March 1, 2005, as part
of its ongoing effort to track market conditions. The survey asked agents
to rate the availability of the following lines of insurance on a scale
from one to five (one suggesting that the market for this line is highly
competitive, and five indicating that the market is impossible to place).
- Q1 - Artisan contractors' GL
- Q2 - Coastal homeowners
- Q3 - Commercial auto
- Q4 - Commercial liability
- Q5 - Commercial umbrella
- Q6 - General contractors' GL
- Q7 - Habitational (apartment houses)
- Q8 - Large property (value of more than $55 million)
|
- Q9 - Long-haul trucking
- Q10 - Non-standard personal auto
- Q11 - Restaurants
- Q12 - Small workers' compensation (under $5,000 in premium)
- Q13 - Taverns
- Q14 - Tenant-occupied dwellings
- Q15 - Standard personal auto
|
The survey was available for two
months, ending in May. PIA members who wished to participate but who did
